It was bound to happen sooner or later...

So, hypothetically speaking, how long does it take for a hair dryer to dry out after it falls into the toilet?

O.k. So I'm not asking a hypothetical question. I'm being serious.

Do you think it will be safe to use my hair dryer in the morning?

With a set up like this, it was bound to happen sooner or later...

And yes, that's a curling iron you see behind the hair dryer. And yes, I know it's not 1987 but I still love my curling iron. Please don't judge me.

I got my hair cut into a bob right before I went on vacation and if I use the flat iron my hair looks a little too blunt and too chic...totally not me. Well, not chic anyway. I can definitely be blunt.

And I have never been able to dry my hair using the round roller brush so, I have to use the curling iron on the ends of my hair.

At least I'm not using it on my bangs. With 5 gallons of hair spray.

Because THAT would totally be 1987.

You mean I shouldn't store my hair dryer directly above the toilet on a shelf? Now that you mention it probably not.....

Cool toilet paper holder!

Feathered bangs are totally back in in Brazil. Or so said the lady that did my hair there. They're pretty fashion forward, so expect the big bang to be making a comeback here in the States sometime soon. You and your curling iron will be ready!

And, actually, using a curling iron for the ends of your hair instead of a round brush- genius. I might have to give that a try.

That's funny. My curling iron (yes I use one too - not on my bangs) and blow dryer are on the other side of the cabinet or that would happen to me too. You better post again tomorrow so we know you didn't electrocute yourself!

How cute are you!!!! Curling irons are the new black, Beth... you're so cool you don't even know it.

Laughin at the 5 gallons of hairspray !!!

So I can come out of the drawer with my curling iron too? I feel so much better now.

You and I are cut from the same 1987 mold.

I also cheat and use the curling iron instead of a roller brush. So much easier!!!!!!!

Dood. My curling iron plus and a can of Aqua Net? I must have depleted half the ozone layer from 1987-1990.

I say live on the edge. Plug it in. Just make sure you're not alone so someone can call 911.

I am impressed that you have this much time to style your hair- mine is in a permanent bun.

Gurl! You could just start using your left hand...if I had that bathroom, my curling iron would be on the other side!

That's DAN.GER.OUS!!

But then again so was spraying Aqua Net directly on the hair while it's IN the curling iron...it always sounded like velcro when you pulled the thing out.

Did you used to do that too?

I'm worried about you...Don't turn on the hair dryer!

Hell is getting one of those round brush things stuck in your hair! Stick with the curling iron!

Haha, I remember curled bangs with TONS of hairspray for picture day when I was little. And, what's wrong with a curling iron? I love mine, is that like, passe? Uh oh, better go consult like, Cosmo or something. Haha.
Oh, um, when people dump err...spill things on their computers, we usually have fans on them for about 24 hours. Don't know how that relates to a hairdryer, but maybe it'll help you gauge. I'm hoping it wasn't on when it fell in, because then the circuitry might be fried, and that wouldn't be a good thing.

If I did that, you can bet in less than 2 minutes that dryer would be in the toilet.

I think you are perfectly fine using a curling iron....(just don't perm it and DON'T put it in a velvet big fat scrunch while wearing some leggings.)

Oh...at least it wasn't your cell phone! I've done that and the hair dryer will be MUCH cheaper to replace! hee!!

I flat iron my hair everyday...except that I round the ends a bit...it works very well. I just don't miss the days of the curling iron...I burned my forehead WAY too many times trying to get those HUGE bangs!!

Have a great day!

My curling iron is tucked away in the back of a drawer somewhere. I don't judge you, but I don't envy you, either.

This isn't a very typical WFMW post, by the way.

Hey, I give you credit for even bothering to dry your hair when it's this hot out!!! I can't be bothered! Hey we need photos of your new bob!

Yeah - you are lucky it took this long to happen, huh? I'm interested to hear if it still works!!!

This post just cracked me up...something I would do.

And I am right with you, curling irons rock!

Texasholly said...

OMG that is so much like something that would happen to me. Did you wait the 24 hours or was it still dripping?

And...you may need to step away from the curling iron. or wait. because they are bound to be back in style soon. hahaha

Try a layered Bob, ya know, where it is shorter in the back and kinda swings forward and long whispy bangs.

And I think I would buy a new hair dryer. My bathroom is set up kind of like yours. It just a matter of time before me or the kids knock the hair dryer off the sink
