On Saturday afternoon Sarah grabbed a bag of Quaker Delights from the pantry and ran into the playroom. "Peter! Do you want a bag of these? There's one bag left. You can get it."
"Bring me a bag and I'll pay you a dollar!" was his lazy reply.
Sucker! She'll never see that dollar, I thought.
She grabbed the snack from the pantry and happily ran it into the playroom for him. (Please note - the playroom is 5 feet from the pantry.)
"Thanks Sarah!"
Not two minutes later, Peter ran past me through the kitchen and up the stairs.
"Where you going, honey?" I yelled after him.
"To my bedroom, to get Sarah the dollar that I owe her for getting me the snack," was his reply.
Who's the sucker now?

That is so sweet.
That's a classic. And kind of a guy thing don't you think?
So cute! My 4yr old tells his brother all the time if he does what ever it is that he wants him to do at that moment he will be his best friend. Sometimes the 8yr old tells him no but when he tells him yes, it warms my heart and the 4yr old gives him a big hug like he just gave him a million dollars. I sent out your gift card FINALLY!!!
A guy true to his word...love it! :)
just remember, Suckers are sweet and everyone loves 'em... 'specially kids!
LOVE it!!!
Ha! Sarah might have all the money in his piggy bank before long if he isn't careful. Silly boy. :)
At first I went "awwww" for sarah, but then I sort of laughed because Peter's laziness cost him dearly..... mine costs me all the time! With my sprained ankle I find myself bargaining for such snacks too - it has even cost me with my husband... HOW WRONG is that??? LOL I now owe my husband his favorite home cooked meal as soon as my foot is better.
Lol, what a sweetie! I love that he exerted more energy to get the money for his sister than if he'd gotten the snack himself.
Next time he wants a snack, call me. I could use the $1.
Good going Sarah.
Oh yah, the thought process of a child!
Well, I could just squeeze him!! What a sweetie and what a promise keeper!!
Good for Peter paying his sister what he said he would! You have neat kids!
I can just feel the love oozing from your house. Of course the next time a scenario like this comes up, it probably wont play out so nice.
