Easy Tip for Keeping Your Bathrooms Clean!

I'm going to clue everyone in on a little secret that helps me keep my bathrooms clean. It's going to sound so simple that you will be slapping yourself upside your head and saying, "Why didn't I think of that myself!" or maybe even "Duh! I already do that!" or possibly even "I don't think that's going to make a bit of difference!" But just try it and I think your bathrooms will be cleaner in no time...

Previously, whenever I wanted to clean my bathrooms, I used to schlep a big bucket that contained all of my cleaning supplies from bathroom to bathroom. It seems I could always find a reason not to get that big bucket out and clean all of the bathrooms. Just seemed so overwhelming...not sure why that bucket of cleaning supplies held such power of me and my ability to clean but it did.

Then it struck me one day...wouldn't it be much easier if I kept all of the bathroom cleaning supplies in each of the bathrooms? That way if I had a free minute or two while I was in one of the bathrooms, I could clean it right then on the spot when the mood struck me. No more going to find the big bucket of supplies and no more excuses. Because what normally happened when I would go get the bucket is that I would get sidetracked by some other task.

Now, each of my bathrooms contain a scrub brush, a Magic Erase pad, a container of anti-bacterial wipes, a roll of paper towels, glass cleaner , toilet cleaner...you get the idea. I can quickly get my bathrooms clean and no more excuses! Seems simple but it really makes a huge difference for me and my sparkling toilets!

That is a good idea. My biggest problem is that the powder room on the main floor (in my house in Canada) only has a pedestal sink, and no storage in which I can hide supplies.

However -- in the interest of full disclosure, I do have a laundry room right next to it, with plenty of room for said cleaning supplies. So I really have no excuse...but to try out your excellent suggestion :)

Sometimes we miss the most obvious things, right? Although I'd like to caution anyone who does this, make sure anything caustic is well locked up! I wouldn't keep our Comet cleanser anywhere but very high up because of the little ones. Those child locks aren't always foolproof.

Also, just keeping a canister of Lysol Wipes in the bathroom does wonders. Take one minute to wipe down the toilet and the floor around it each evening, and you've got a bathroom that almost keeps itself. Almost.

Great minds think alike ... I do this too !! I hang a cleaning cloth in the corner of my shower too so that I can give it a wipe down while I'm waiting for the conditioner to be in my hair a bit before rinsing it out !! No more getting my clothes wet trying to clean/rinse the shower !!

I do this, too! And it does work well!

Have any ideas on how to keep mold from growing in the bottom of the toilet? I really think I have to clean that daily...it's so gross.

I do that too. I also dab at spots in the bathroom while my kid is in the tub. Two birds, one stone and all that.

This really does make a difference. If I have to roam all over the house hunting supplies, I get sidetracked!

That is a great idea...all except for one part...the part where the mood strikes you to clean... I never get moods like that;)

I am definitely wondering why I didn't think of this! :) I am sure the bathroom on the other side of the house will be sparkly now. Thanks!

I try to do this... I just haven't gotten organized enough to stock both bathrooms at the same time, so I ended up with half in one and half in the other...

Blessings,
