A representative from each grade processes in and place flowers around the statue of Mary. And then every 8th grader does the same. At the end of the procession, one 8th grade girl has the honor of crowning Mary.
In addition to readings from the Bible and hymns about Mary, three 8th graders are chosen to read their Marian reflections. Sarah wrote an excellent reflection and got to read hers during the service.
It was a beautiful service and such a nice way to honor Mary.
I'm waiting for the school photographer to post her official shots but in the meantime, here are the ones I snapped with my phone.

Such a beautiful tradition and I am sure it was very special to watch.
So lovely!
I am so happy to hear that this beautiful celebration of Our Lady is still being practiced!
What an honor that Sarah was chosen to read her reflection. You must be so proud! She looked beautiful.
