Ireland - Day 6

We spent our last day of the trip in Dublin.  To make sure we saw as much of the city as possible, we took a Hop On, Hop Off  Tour Bus.  We took the following streets and saw many sites along the way:

  • Upper O'Connell Street
  • Lower Grafton Street (Molly Malone Statue)
  • Nassau Street
  • Leinster Street
  • Merrion Street (National Gallery)
  • Merrion Square South
  • St Stephen's Green
  • Suffolk Street (Dublin Tourism Center)
  • Dame Street
  • Lord Edward Street (Christ Church Cathedral)
  • Nicholas Street (Dvblinia)
  • St Patrick's Cathedral
  • Guinness Storehouse
  • Parkgate Street
  • Phoenix Park (Dublin Zoo)
  • National Museum
  • Arran Quay
  • GPO (O'Connell Street)
After the bus tour, we spent the rest of the day wandering the streets, buying trinkets for the kids and enjoying a Guinness at a pub.  O.k. Dan had the Guinness, I had a Blue Moon - just can't drink beer that I can't see through - even though we had just been to the place it is made!

This is a picture of me on one of the streets in the Temple Bar area.  This area is full of restaurants and bars.

This picture is of me on the   O'Connell Bridge which runs over the River Liffey.  The Liffey flows through the center of Dublin.
Our day in Dublin wrapped up our Irish vacation together.  The next day we spent the entire day in airports and on planes and finally made it home to see the kids.  It was a wonderful week touring around Ireland but the best part was all of the time I got to spend with Dan.

Thanks Mom and Dad for watching the kids for a whole week.  And special thanks to my mom who did it while she was in severe knee pain due to torn knee cartilage!
