I ate lunch with my son again on Friday.
Between volunteering for Spanish Enrichment where I am in all 4 Kindergarten classes every Wednesday, volunteering in my son's class every Thursday and eating lunch with him whenever he can convince me, it feels like I am always there.
And I guess volunteering to help with Spanish Enrichment isn't such a bad thing because in addition to getting a better understanding of exactly what is going on in my son's class, I am getting to meet all of the Kindergarteners.
And it makes me feel like a rock star.
As I was walking through the cafeteria yesterday, kids were waving at me, yelling out "Hola, Miss Beth" and tugging on their friends shirts and pointing in my direction.
Several kids even came up and gave me hugs. HUGS!
I think next week I'm going to take my Sharpie in case any of them ask for my autograph.

Woo Hoo, you go girl.
Hola! (wish I could do an upside-down exclamation mark too, but I don't know the code...)
How cool to be a rock star! You should totally start signing autographs. :)
I am excited, I get to ride off your coat tails. Since everyone says we look alike, they will be asking for me for my autograph too. I love having a famous look a like.
You are a Rock Star! So cute!
The challenge is to see if you can maintain this status through middle school. That age kid is SO easily impressed!
Way to go Rock Star MAMA! :)
oh that is SOOO sweet!
Rock Star! You go Beth! I love being a rock star's mom!

ouww.... thats beautiful!
That's why I teach. It is the connections and the light bulb moments.
There are days when you know that you have made a difference. It maybe a small one but that doesn't matter.
Isn't that what we are put here to do? Make a difference!
This is exactly why I liked teacher kinders... I couldn't turn down 20 kids thinking I'm a rock star!
Beth,
When my husband went to Brazil to build a church, he said the kids wanted his autograph too! Isn't that amazing how they look up to adults like that.
He went to bless them and he was the one was so blessed.
What a blessing to be an involved parent!
You'll pick up a little Spanish along the way and you'll really be a rockstar...who can speak like Dora! :)
I tell ya, I LOVE how many of the kids in my daughter's class know me. I subbed for music and art when she was in kinder and now I'm up there for lunch almost every Wednesday. I love how I always end up coming home with a piece of art.
Oh how fun! That's exciting...you really ARE a rock star ;)
