What is it?

I just wanted to share with you what I am greeted with most mornings....

Is it a bird's nest? Is it the Sasquatch? Is it a ball of thread that's been mangled by a cat? Nope, it's just my darling Sarah. I'm not sure what she does in her sleep but every morning I have to tame this beast with a brush and squirt bottle before we can go out in public.

As Sarah's hair has grown I've gotten better at brushing it out and she's got better at dealing with her head being jerked and pulled as I'm trying to get the brush through it.

Boys are so much easier but I figure when she grows up, Dan and Peter can go build something or tear something down and she and I can go get pedicures! I can't wait...meanwhile, I'll keep buying detangler by the gallon...

Hello. I just found you via Missy's (Naptime) blog. I really enjoyed your posts and read them on all on this page. Your daughter's hair--I can so relate. Only it is I who wakes up with the rat's nest in back. This is a never-ending source of amusement to my teenagers and husband. I have asked the very same question: "What am I doing in my sleep that could cause this thing to grow overnight??" Fun stuff. Yes, you are smart to record every little thing about your kids. They don't stay little.

Wow, I had the same problem with Caity's hair this morning. Spraying, adding detangler and brushing. How I love the morning routine. And I have not even got to Cheyanne's hair yet.

I can so relate. You would not BELIEVE Bean's hair when she wakes up. It's like a ... a ... a big ball of that lint that I dig out of the vaccuum cleaner filter. Insanity!

It's times like this when I think having just boys isn't all that bad. Of course, when you two are off to pedicures in a few years time, I may change my mind :)

Oh, yeah. That definitely looks familiar!

This looks like Alexis' hair every morning too! All of my kids have such a head of hair and it is so hard to keep up with on the little ones. I trimmed Alexis' hair last night and Little Billy's - tired of looking at the stringy hair. Hope you got it all combed out - see ya later. Kellan

Oh man! I agree with Jennwa - would detangler help? Poor thing (both you and her)! :)

I can totally relate!!! I was on the receiving end of the brush each day as a kid! My mom used to braid my hair at night after my bath, which made for far fewer tears the next morning.

I'm glad my son is still bald as can be at 17 months! :)

WOW...that is some tangled hair...poor thing.

This is yet another reason I am thankful God gave me boys. Ha!

At least she is a sport about getting it done every morning.

This may be obvious, but it wasn't to me for years. Make sure to use a conditioner after you shampoo her hair. It makes the comb-out the next morning way easier.
