Just kill it already!

I'm sure many of you have heard the Legend of the Christmas Spider.

If not, take a minute to read it.

I think it's a creepy story. I've never liked tinsel and I am pretty sure I will never have a spider ornament hanging on my tree. Spiders give me the willies. So, imagine my surprise today when my husband found this in the box we use to store our Christmas tree....

I can't stop shuddering. Isn't it just the ugliest thing you've ever seen? And guess what? It's a black widow spider!
I know what I'm going to be dreaming about tonight and unfortunately, it ain't Brad Pitt!

So basically you are dreaming about Angelina?

That is the creepiest thing ever! I am totally terrified of spiders, even the so-called harmless ones, so finding a black widow would probably leave me a shuddering mess for days!

Eww...I'm so sorry you have that IN YOUR KITCHEN now!

I have killed two Black Widows in our backyard...the kids don't get to play back there. Yikes!!

Hurry, flush it or something!

Oh.My.Goodness. I am so glad I'm reading this post in the morning - or I'd have nightmares, too (sorry, v. selfish, I know).

How on earth did your husband manage to *catch* it without, you know, killing it? Wasn't that a tad dangerous?

I hope you managed a few z's anyway :(

Sorry about that, I am in a weird mood. Too many horror movies for me in my developmental years.

I used to think spiders were sort of cute, but the last few years they've started to terrify me. So if I'd seen YOUR spider, I probably would have passed out!!! That is one freaky huge thing!!! I think it's sort of hilarious how it has a sort of "place of honour" in that glass jar. Hubby must feel pretty brave LOL!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Happy New Year to you and your family!

I saw that hour-glass on its tummy right away - Oh my gosh!!!! He is so lucky that it didn't bite him or anyone before you all found it - I say, "Just kill it already!"

Hope you are having a nice weekend - spider free weekend. See you this week - Kellan

Thanks for bringing that spider to my house! You know what I believe....a dead spider is a good spider. Sleep tight!

I would not be happy to see that in my house, and it's worse to hear it is a black widow. I can't believe your husband caught it alive!
