We arrived home for our trip to the Cape on Sunday evening and walked into this:
All the flooring on the first floor has been removed! |
The wall between the dining room and the kitchen is GONE! |
Another view of the missing wall and the beginnings of the new flooring! |
Looking from the dining room into the kitchen - that blue tape will be the location of my island more or less! |
Another the view of the hot mess that is currently our house! |
Thankfully Time Warner was able to send someone out yesterday and after two hours he was able to get everything up and running again. I was also able to get to the store and things are starting to get back to normal around here.
Okay - that's a total lie but I guess we are starting to figure out our new normal for the next two months. I fixed dinner at my parent's house next door and we ate after they had finished. I will be heading over there later this morning do to several loads of laundry and then I will be taking the kids to the pool. While they are there, I have to go to the Sprint store because my phone is acting crazy.
It's freezing up and I have to do a reboot (hold the volume down button and the power switch simultaneously) to get it unfrozen. And it is also just randomly cutting off. Not annoying at all!
Dan was supposed to be leaving for a two week trip to Tuscon today but now he's not leaving until Thursday which means I need to go back to the grocery store to get food for two more real dinners because unlike the kids, he's not content with cereal or a corn dog for dinner.
We start school on the 22nd and the kids are freaking out a bit. In all honesty, I am too. We've got doctor's appointments, hair appointments, PTO meetings, orthodontist consult, etc. between now and then and I'm left wondering how did our summer go by so fast.

I hear you! School is coming up FAST. Your house is going to look amazing! I am glad you had a wonderful trip and that your poor deprived children will get their cable and internet back soon. ;)
Wow. So much progress!!! You'll get through it and it will all be worth it!!!
Hoping reno goes quicker than you anticipate ( or don't run into any snags )..
