Procrastinating...

I just finished up some PTO work and should really be starting our taxes but that doesn't sound very exciting so here I am.

Dan finally got back from his trip around 10:00 PM on Monday.  And of course due to cancelled and rebooked flights his luggage didn't make it home until yesterday afternoon so I'm also knee deep in over a weeks worth of his laundry.

But he's home!  And I'm happy.  The week went well - mostly spent moving the kids from one place to another - but I'm always glad to have him back.

Prior to leaving Berlin, he sent me this photo:

Yes, that's correct.  My husband is surrounded by 14 beautiful Emerates  flight attendants from around the world. Made me feel a little less bad that he had been working so hard all week.

And in case you are interested, here's a picture of the seats my husband's company is currently building for Emerates:

And just to clarify, when I say "my husband's company" it's not a company that my husband owns but the company my husband works for - lest you think my husband is wealthy entrepreneur.

These are business class seats - which means they are nicer than the regular seats but not as nice as first class.  You've seen the first class seats right?  The ones in the commercial with Jennifer Aniston.

The seats my husband is working on lays flat and there's a minibar.  Not bad for business class!

Anyway, enough about airplane seats.

I'm getting excited about our trip to Ireland.  The weather is going to be not so lovely - highs in the low 50s and cloudy/rainy which is a bummer since it's in the 80s here today.

I can't believe a week from now we will be on our way to the airport!

Well, I can procrastinate no longer.  I guess it's time to work on our taxes so I don't have that to deal with when we get back from our trip.  Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Those are very cool airplane seats. No wonder he travels a lot! Glad he made it home safely! I can't believe your big trip is coming so fast. I am sure it will be great. Hope your taxes were easy! (and that you either got paid or pay very little!)

He looks like he's enjoying himself. :) Those seats look so nice!
Have fun on your trip. I've always wanted to go to Ireland.

Oh my goodness, those seats! I thought the business class seats I've had the privilege of enjoying--because of the perks we get through my husband's airline-- were the epitome of comfort...but I was wrong! (Ours don't include a personal mini-bar, for one thing!)

My husband is actually flying back and forth to Dublin this month. I had plans to accompany him on one or two of his trips, but those plans got sidetracked by some family issues. So instead, I've been in Germany since the end of Feb.

I thought it was interesting that this post mentioned both Germany and Ireland, when those two countries are playing such a big role in my life right now.

Have a WONDERFUL trip to Ireland! I can't wait to see the pictures. :)

Ha, I just saw that commercial today on TV! It is kind of cute. I traveled internationally a lot from 2004-2006 and then a couple other trips in 2008 and 2010 and the company always flew us first class on international flights. I LOVED it! I love to fly, but had never been in first class before until that job and just getting to the location was part of the experience. Not to mention, it helped us be ready to hit the ground running after our flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, etc. I really liked the double decker planes, it was so quite on the top level. Anyway, this post brought back lots of memories. I hope you have a GREAT time in Ireland!!
