I'm not surprised.

Report cards came home today.  My first grader and my kindergartner both got less than perfect grades on their handwriting.

Apparently the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

Penmanship - it was never my best subject either!

I really (REALLY) think that children should not be graded on handwriting. My daughter's is gorgeous. My older son struggles so. Struggles. SO much (in 4th grade) that the teachers are considering letting him use one of the alpha smarts keyboards. Look at your kids with this instead, they have mastered the pre-requisite to being good doctors!

with our computer age, they wont need to write long. I dont know when was the last time I actually 'Wrote' something... I dont even have to fill out my checks anymore, the cashier does it with her register.

Cute! Out of the two old enough to write in my house, one has good writing and one always comes home with the "needs improvement" in the area of his writing!
