What has been will be again....

Well, today's the big day!

Peter's "Jays" arrive.  Apparently that's what all the kids call Air Jordan's these days.  Or, at least, that's what Peter is calling them.

I hope he's not disappointed when they arrive.  I think they look ugly.  My brother even tried to convince Peter to get a less "clunky" looking shoe but he wouldn't budge on the "classic" Air Jordan.

This is the one he finally ended up ordering:

Two days after Peter ordered these, Sarah informed me that she wanted a pair of Converse.

Converse???

Again, I ask, "What year is this?"

Apparently, Converse All Starts are back in style.  And not just for kids - I've seen them on a lot of fashion blogs for women as well in all different colors

So Sarah's new spring shoe won't be cute sandals like normal, she'll be wearing these:

Peter is going to be sporting old-fashioned clunky looking Air Jordan's.  Sarah is going to be sporting old-fashioned uni-sex Converse.

And I'm left pondering Ecclesiastes 1:9: "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun."

Pretty sure  fashion was not what the author had in mind when he wrote that but it sure does ring true!

Yeah... I never had a pair of Converse either but those also went through a phase when I was in middle school. Trends are weird. However, all this talk of Air Jordans made me nostalgic so it's possible I listened to the Space Jam song the other day. Also, I remembered the Air Jordan cologne--it was BAD. Let us all be glad THAT hasn't made a comeback.

A few years ago my oldest wanted a pair of white Converse. I was like white?? Converse?? But I relented and he loved them. I tried a pair on two and loved them so much I bought a red pair. But I'd rather wear my flip flops any day.

Wow..it's so funny to think how all styles come around again! Although I don't think I'l be wearing any Converse. I wasn't a fan of them the first time. LOL But I bet they look super cute on Sarah.

My daughter is in middle school and has two pairs of Converse. One black and one white now. I thought it was pretty funny to. Fashion is a cycle I guess :-)

My daughter has loooooved her Converse All Stars for years. Wears them with jeans, she wore them with her school uniform and she's worn them with certain skirts. Always cute!

Lindsay has been wearing converse since middle school....to me, they are cute, but don't look like they 'support' the foot. I'm such a MOM! I really had no idea they still made air jordans?!?

Long time reader but first time commenter here. Just had to say this post really made me laugh. My baby is only seven months, so I wonder what fashion trends will come back around by the time she's old enough to have an opinion!
