What I Wore LAST Sunday

Happy Sunday, y'all!  It's great to be back to blogging after an extended break.  I'll post the obligatory holiday photos tomorrow but today, I wanted to share with you guys what I wore LAST Sunday.

We were in Massachusetts celebrating Christmas and thankfully (because I think my kids would have exploded if it had not happened) it snowed last Saturday night.  We got 6 or 7 inches  which meant sledding after church but it also meant that I got to take my picture in front of this beautiful backdrop.

And it meant that I got to wear my wool Aran sweater.  (I stole this look from another WIWS participant from a couple of weeks earlier and I apologize that I don't remember her name.  I am going to try to figure it out and if I do, I will edit this post and give outfit credit, where outfit credit is due!

Sweater: A shop in Dublin, Ireland.  (My husband picked it up on one of his many business trips.)
Cords: Target
Tee Shirt: Target
Boots: Target
Scarf: Target

I tried to pose while casually looking down or thoughtfully looking to the left, or running my hands through my hair like some of the other WIWS girls do.

My photographer thought I was crazy  and kept saying, "Mommy!  What are you doing?"  And at one point was laughing so hard she had to stop taking pictures so she could catch her breath.

The above picture is as close as I'll ever get to an artsy WIWS photo.  From here on out, I'll be looking directly at the camera and smiling old school style.

Head on over to Fine Linen and Purple for more inspiration!

The red is the perfect accent - slightly jealous you got snow, we got 70-degree weather!

So glad I'm not the only one who posted last week's outfit...maybe I'm not as big a fake as I think! Your sweater is beautiful!

Your hubby is such a good gift-giver! Did you plant a seed in his head on that one? I'm so impressed.

I think your attempt at an artsy photo is 100% acceptable. Tell your photographer to be more professional ;-)

Nothing wrong with a good ole straight look at the camera and flashing those pearly whites! You looks so cozy and put together. That sweater is my favorite!

But you totally pulled off the thoughtful-looking-to-the-left pose! After all these years we really should try to meet up for a minute next time you're up in MA!!

I totally can't look off into the distance or look down or anything. My children would think I'd lost my mind...even more!

Love that pop of red and those boots. Fantastic.
