Public Service Announcement

Dan was not home for dinner last night and whenever this happens, I usually fix something for the kids and eat just whatever they leave on their plates.

Healthy, huh?

Last night, I didn't even feel like microwaving anything for them so we went to McDonald's instead.

The kids got burgers and apple dippers and I ordered a Big N' Tasty. Yum! I love the Big N' Tasty.

And even though it is dripping with mayo, I figure it's better for me than Quarter Pounder because at least it has lettuce and tomato on it.

After the kids went to bed, I was still feeling hungry. (And I blame this on the fact that I was trying to be healthy and didn't get any fries to go with my Big N' Tasty.)

So I headed to the fridge for some queso. But alas! The queso was moldy. Ewww...nothing worse than moldy queso - or so I thought.

Since I already had chips and dip on the brain, I decided to see what I could concoct on my own.

Perhaps I could even come up with something even better than queso.

After perusing the contents of the fridge, I combined some sour cream and some salsa with some feta cheese. I mixed it and microwaved it and sat down on the couch with my new snack and grabbed the remote, ready to settle in and snack and surf.

Even though the mixture resembled the remnants of our Christmas stomach virus, I took a big bite anyway.

And let me just say for the record that it was just as you all are probably thinking it would be....

DISGUSTING!

So, consider yourself warned. Do not combine feta, sour cream and salsa.

I should have just gone with the queso. The microwave would have killed the mold, right?

EWWWWWWW! When I ready you microwaved Feta, I knew that would be horrible! :) I am not a Feta fan at all.

You sound so much like me. I love sandwiches like the Big and Tasty, but if I don't get the fries for sure I would of been looking for something later to eat. Sorry to hear about your awful dip experience, but next time you will know better and maybe try a different combo. I'll take your advice and not try this recipe.

Getting in the car for some fries would have been a better idea too. Thanks for the warning.

You crack me up, "remnants of your Christmas stomach virus". that is a great analogy.

I'm not a big fan of any of those ingredients on their own... and together, well, I can see why you went there, but... :)

I hope you got some new yummy queso today. :)

And now I have to go eat some of the leftover cheese dip we have in the fridge. What in the world will I do if it is moldy? oh-oh!!! ;) Fingers crossed!

Did I mention I loved the post? I don't know how I missed that! :) Cheese distracts me. :)

BETH!!!!!!!

I am so thankful for your prayers. I believe that your strong faith, and the faith of every poster that prayed, caused her to get better. The strength of prayer always amazes me.

Much Love,

See, this is why I just go with straight up sour cream :)

I love sandwhiches dripping with mayo.

maybe you should consider your little dish a cosmic push to be healthy.

But Im like you, when I get chips and dip on the brain, nothing will satisfy. (actually, I love to dip anything)

If you had stopped with sour cream and salsa you would have been fine. You can microwave that. You can also add refried beans, olives, guacamole, etc. It's yummy.
