Sarah hates having her hair dried after her bath ever night.
And I don't blame her because I hate drying it.
Her hair is long and tangles easily. It's hard to brush even with our trusty friend Johnson and Johnson's No More Tears.
But we have to do it. Her hair is thin so if she goes to bed with it damp she wakes up with these bizarre waves all over her heard.
So her hair must be washed and dried.
Last night, Sarah was extra tired so she whined and cried the whole time I was drying her hair. I sang "You Are My Sunshine" the whole time the hair dryer was on.
My singing served two purposes. It was an attempt to both calm her down and perhaps drown out the whining and crying a little.
At the end of it, I helped her put on her Hannah Montana pj's and I carried her to her room.
And then she laid her head on my shoulder she said, "You're the best momma I've ever had."
And I said the only thing a momma can say after that. "Sarah, you're the best baby girl I've ever had."

AWWW...that is just so sweet.
That is so cute and I bet it made your day!
Aww. Don't you love it when they say sweet things like that? What a cutie. :)
Saaaaweeet!!
I just love it when they say things like that. This is such a great age. I love it when Ethan just comes up to me for no reason and tells me he loves me or gives me a big hug!
Precious! You will remember that for a long time and so will she.
That is so precious!
I love that. The other day my girlie said to me, "I love you so much mommy, I even love you when you don't give me what I want." Which is good, because I do that a lot!
I love those moments.
I can't wait until Quinn starts to talk. I can't wait to hear his little voice say he loves me! I love it, though, when I get him out of the crib each morning and he says "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma!"
That is beyond precious.
Sniff. :)
(Especially because it brought back memories of when MY Sarah was young enough for me to dry her hair...)
There are few things better in life than when your child turns to you and tells you that you are loved. It makes the world a very, very lovely place.
A wonderful post. Thank you!

That is so sweet. Being a mom is really the most rewarding job.
Awwww, so sweet!! I love that song.
I have had to dry my youngest son's hair since he was 6 months old because he was born with so much hair, can you believe it?! =)
Beth,
Thank you for your blog and for the sweet story about you and your little girl!
For months I have been contemplating starting my own blog. After reading your profile and about the reasons you have started a blog, I have decided to finally do it!! The years are slipping by way to fast!
Thanks for your inspiration!
From "another",
Beth :)
What sweet words between mother and daughter!
My 3 year old has very thick, long hair. She often reminds me to 'Be gentle, Mommy!". We read books while we dry her hair. I dread it, but end up loving that special time with my little girl. :)
I love those moments. so sweet.
Truly a treasured moment, Beth!
Too sweet! These are precious times.
Precious. Makes it all worth it I bet.
