WIWS - The Chevron Stripe Edition

It's Sunday - that's right - What I Wore Sunday!

I decided to hop on the Chevron stripe bandwagon before it became yesterday's trend.  I'm pretty sure I waited a little too long because it seems like the world has moved on to floral and printed pants as the latest and greatest.  Pretty sure I won't be hopping on THAT bandwagon.

Because, y'all, the 5 pounds I gained after Christmas and still can not get rid of has ended up in my thighs (and in my cheeks, both sets of cheeks, actually).  And a floral or any print on my pants is only going to magnify that problem.

Anyway, where was I?  Oh yes.  The Chevron stripe.

I like this shirt because it's loose and flowy and I don't have to stuck in my stomach when I'm wearing it.

The problem?

I felt like Rhoda the whole time I was wearing it.  Seriously, all I need is a head wrap and a spastic friend named Mary and I'm good to go.

Shirt:  Kohl's
Pants: Kohl's
Necklace: Kohl's
Boring Old Lady Shoes:  Shoe Carnival

If I can loose those extra five pounds and squeeze into my white jeans then I might be able to pair this shirt with those and some cute wedges and feel a little less frumpy.  Otherwise, I may declare the Chevron stripe dead to me and move on.

Just not to the floral or any-print-for-that-matter pants.

For less 1970's looks, head on over to Fine Linen and Purple and see what the other ladies wore to church today!

There are lots of jeans with tiny polka dots out lately. Those are pretty safe and constitute a "print" I think. Good floral pants are HARD to come by.

Also, I don't see the extra weight, but rest assured- there are much worse places than the glutes to pack it on! Bootylicious, duh.

You look great! I actually LOVE that print on you - it's fun and cheerful.

I can't see the 5 pounds. I think I picked them up by mistake. Just trying to help a girl out.....

what are you talking about??? I am obsessed with this sweater! If you get rid of it (which you should NOT), send it directly to ME. I insist!

I think your sweater's great!

But... I did grow up in San Francisco, so maybe my opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt.

IIIIII just don't know about the floral-printed pants. That is not an area I want to bring that much attention.

You're right — the flowy shirt would look better with a fitted pant, even jeans. It's a very flattering top, though. I vote keep it.

The colors of the shirt and the cut of the shirt are so fun.
