I'm always looking for an easy recipe, but this might be taking it a step too far.

My cooking isn't very good.  I'll be the first to admit that.  Scratch that.  My family would be the first to admit that.  I wonder how they would feel if I served this latest "dish" being marketed by the makers of Campbell's Soup:

Recipe (in case you can't figure it out by looking at the little handy graphic):

Heat up a can of soup
Cook a cup of rice.
Dump soup over rice.

My family might actually like it.  Although, in reality, I would be a 90-year-old woman in the rest home with my dear husband and he would still be saying, "Remember the time you tried to serve us a can of soup of rice?"  Emphasis on still.  I can't risk hearing about it for the next 49 years.

If anyone else has tried this, let me know.  I would be interested to hear how your family liked it.

funny. but i don't think there is anything wrong with canned soup for supper now and then. But no i would never mix soup and rice thats a bit weird to me.

and yeah I am the worst cook ever.

I might have to try this. My husband loves the Chunky Brand Sirloin Burger, I will use that and maybe thicken it up with some flour and make rice. I will let you know.

I don't see anything wrong with that...just a more saucy stir fry! I often serve chili over brown rice.

We love things over rice, but we aren't fans of canned soup, plus I think it would be kind of watery to put over soup.

For some people, if mom made that for dinner, the family would be impressed with her "home cooking." LOL.
Hope you are having a great week!

We eat beans and rice almost every day, so some days I'll mix some chunky soup with leftover rice for a snack. But I never thought to serve it for dinner!

i've had that soup before and it's not watery...it's almost like gravy, just not as thick, but it's not watery like most canned soups. i am going to try this! like everyone, i'm ALWAYS looking for quick and easy and this looks to be just that!!!

Oh yes ma'am. I have done that on numerous occasions (and without a RECIPE!), just for me when I was single, and a couple of times for Bean and me when I was too sick to cook and Al was out of town. It's like beef stew over rice. (Better than Dinty Moore.) Hey, it has veggies and it gets the job done. Plus the meat in those soups is very toddler-teeth friendly.

I have two teenage boys, I can't imagine how much rice I would have to serve that with...

This is SO funny...I saw the "recipe" in a magazine and just served to for dinner last week. It was awful! I had the same thought process...I love the chunky stew-like soups and I love rice. It tasted plain nasty. :(
