They should be used to it by now.

This morning Mom and Dad served my family and Jennifer's family brunch. Thanks ya'll! It was delicious!

After we gorged ourselves on bacon, pancakes, grits, banana bread, honey bun cake, cooked apples, sausage casserole and mixed fruit; Jennifer's youngest son, Colton, came home with me and Sarah went home with Jennifer.

At dinner tonight Sarah told us how much fun she had with Jennifer and Caity and Cheyanne.

"We had a girl party Mommy! Miss Jennifer put eye shadow on me and painted my fingernails and we put on glittery tattoos. And I got this matching cup and plate decorated with girly flowers from our trip to the dollar store and we colored with chalk on the sidewalk and lots more stuff I can't even remember."

"I'm glad you had fun sweetheart."

"I wish I could switch Mommies."

"Switch Mommies? Wouldn't you miss me?"

"Well, you could still visit me."

And then there's poor Colton. All he got to do all afternoon was help us spread mulch. There weren't any boy parties going on. We put Colton to work. Spreading mulch.

I doubt he's asking to switch Mommies. But Jennifer's kids should be used to that by now.

That's funny, but who knows maybe Colton had a blast spreading the mulch. You know how boys love dirt. It's kind of like Wife Swap. It's all good until you actually do it and realize every day isn't a party.

Can I come to your next brunch, Beth? Just reading what was served is making me hungry. Who can resist grits?

Also, I have to say that you are definitely raising your daughter right. She's all heart...letting you come visit her and all. Very much like the things my son says to me!

I bet Colton loved playing in the dirt with you guys. When we lived in our old house, the neighbor boys would immediately rush over as soon as they saw us working out in the yard. Our yard had a lot of old bushes and vines that we had to remove, and the boys loved to help out. They wanted to use the tools. Boys love that kind of thing. At least them boys did!

I don't know. Every little boy likes to get dirty. You are so lucky your best friend lives in your back yard and you have children to swap off at that.

Yes, Colton had fun. He said he had a mulch spreading party. In fact he the first thing he said was he wanted to go back to your house tomorrow to finish helping because you said he could.

I am glad Sarah she had fun, we all had fun having our girl party.

:) I'm really proud of you for not freakin' out about your daughter saying that. so many parents get really hurt and jealous. It is all about realizing that it is the bigger picture, and she really doesn't mean it.
