Peter was still under the weather as of yesterday. He spent the whole day on the couch. He wasn't complaining of pain, but he still had a low grade fever and he just didn't want to do anything . He fell asleep after dinner and is still asleep as I am writing this.
And, no, the new Pampered Chef item I am in love with is not a medieval torture device or a new punishment for your children. It is the Mix 'N Chop. And according to the PC catalog, it's "unique, beveled pinwheel blades efficiently chop and crumble foods for even cooking and seasoning."
I have been using it instead of a spatula when I cook ground beef and I'm not sure if it's my imagination but I swear, I can cook the beef more quickly. My friend Jennifer, used hers the other day when she was scrambling eggs and said it worked great for that.
When I bought it last month, I could have sworn I paid $9.50 for it. But now, the online catalog is showing that it is $10.00. It doesn't matter though, it's totally worth the extra 50 cents.
The kids have been harassing me for years for a pet. And I've always said no. They want a dog and while I don't have anything against dogs, I just don't want one in my house.
Two weekends ago, they would not stop begging me for a pet.
"Everyone else has one. We are the only kids we know that don't have a pet."
And then they started listing off everyone they knew and sure enough, everyone else has at least one dog, cat, gerbil, bunny, ferret or monkey. (Haven't you always wanted a monkey?)*
So we compromised.
Meet Goldie...

Goldie is Gorgeous! And my idea of a perfect pet!
If I had a million dollars! Hehe, Im Canadian so Bare Naked Ladies lyrics are are burned into my head
Glad you are feeling better! Good job Mommy! They look very happy with their new pet Goldie!
I love my Pampered Chef Mix and Chop. I have had one for years. I use it all of the time. As for the pet, it's perfect. We just got a dog after years of gerbils. I think I want the gerbils back!
Have another baby and tell them that that is their pet. And they don't even have to walk it!
Glad you had a relaxing day. I love days like that too...nowhere to be at any special time. So freeing. Love the new fish. Goldie looks very happy! Good compromise:)
We have a dog and while I do think she is sweet, I hate the hair! We also have two cats and a parakeet. We tried fish for a while but I got tired of cleaning out the smelly tank. Anyway, they look thrilled.:)Have a great day!
So glad you are feeling better, Goldie is a cutie.
Well, you can correct Sarah and let her know that not everyone she knows has a pet. We are pet free in our house. I figure with a husband and three boys to clean up after I don't need something else running around to clean up after. Of course even if we did have a pet, it would have to be outdoors - I just can't do indoors.
I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope Peter is too.
That is the perfect pet! Good choice.
I thought by the title of this post you were going to announce a pregnancy:)
That's a great compromise for a pet!
I am glad you guys are feeling better. It is no fun being sick.
I still think you need a dog. You can have one of mine.
We did the same exact thing! We got fish for the kids...they each have their own little tanks in their rooms. We got them in November.
And now...
They hardly remember that they even have the fish...and who feeds them?? Momma. At least I don't have to walk them! :)
I would love some Pampered Chef things....but until I sell one of the children I just can't afford it.
Goldie is a perfect pet. Seriously don't get a dog. If I ever manage to post again, you'll know why. (Sick boy here, too. Feek better, Peter!)
Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Love the fish!
I so would have gone the Goldie route, too! :)
It seems we've had that same sickness over here. Hope you and Peter are feeling better. Best wishes to Goldie!
I love my doggy but I have to confess her black hair SO doesn't match my wood floors...
Great pet. Unfortunately ours died. They dont tend to live long- put do teach a little about caring for a pet
Hope your fishing is swimming around for years to come
