For the past six or seven months, Go Fish has been a staple in our house. Specifically the I Spy version of the card game.
It was a nice little game we could all four play together.
It was great for Peter and Sarah because they were having fun but at the same time, they were learning how to be good losers and good winners. We are still working on that, but now, there is very little bragging when they win and almost no tantrum-pitching when they lose.
After six or seven months, Sarah is still quite obsessed with it. She could play it 5 or 6 times a day and still want more.
Last night after dinner, I agreed to play another round and as I was dealing the cards I asked Peter if he wanted in.
"No thanks, Mom. Go Fish isn't very challenging for me any more."
Hmmmm, not very challenging? Guess I better call my grandmother. Perhaps Mimi can teach him Bridge!

LOL. I love how when they play now, there is "very little bragging, and almost no tantrum-pitching." Ha ha.
The boys are into Uno right now. It seems we are playing every night right after dinner. My youngest thinks it funny to pass a draw 4 and laughs a big belly laugh and the person who gets the four cards. That laugh alone is enough to make me play for 30 minutes!
Ha! He is too much.

Phase 10 is a fun and challenging card game for kids and adults alike! I first learned to play when I was about 6 or 7. I will warn you that it is super addictive....
We have the I Spy version and we love it! Learning to lose graciously is definitely something we are trying to teach our son right now! We still have a ways to go, he is just so competitive!
I am an obsessive game player. I could play games every waking hour. My kids get so tired of me bugging them to play:)

We are in a puzzle phase in our house. We are up to 300 piece puzzles. Depending on the time of day we are doing them, they challenge me :)
Our family enjoys playing games. I am so hopeful Claire will enjoy it also when she gets a little older.

I was wondering about the I Spy version. I'll have to get it. That was funny what Peter said. I'll bet he could learn bridge. Seems like a smart kid.
I love this post! *sighhh* It brings back memories of when we played Chutes and Ladders and Candyland and....well, you get the idea. I'm looking forward to when our little grandbaby is old enough to play games!
