Her Aunt Cathy came from Alexandria so to celebrate her arrival, Sarah made individual chicken pot pies for lunch.
They were very good!
After lunch, Cathy and Sarah headed to the mall to go shopping for her birthday gift. Sarah had been wanting a new pair of Converse. I received a text from Cathy with this picture and the question Sea Foam or Raspberry?
Well, it was Sarah's lucky day because it was Buy One Get One Half Off at the Rack Room so she came home with both pairs! Sarah likes to have options when it come to shoes.
Later on that evening we grilled out and tried a new recipe that involved taking slices of onions, coating them in BBQ sauce, wrapping them in bacon and grilling them. We also tossed on a little brown sugar before grilling them because you can never go wrong with brown sugar and bacon. They were actually pretty good but we need to work on how long to grill them to actually get them perfected.
On Sunday morning we headed to Mass and then met my parents, my brother and my uncle at a restaurant for Sarah's birthday lunch.
After lunch we headed back to my parent's house for cake and ice cream and present unwrapping!
And this is the long awaited swim bag she's been talking about for months. She was excited to finally get to carry it to swim practice last night.
I'd say my little lady had quite a nice birthday and I am definitely looking forward to seeing what this year brings for her!
