A cheese danish would have been better.

I headed to Target on Friday to get shoes for the kids.  I always get Sarah's shoes there.  They have tons of cute girls shoes that are fairly reasonably priced.  And like it says on my profile, Sarah has a pair of shoes to go with every outfit and we can thank Target for that.

I quickly found several pairs of sandals for her.  In fact, the hard part was trying to narrow it down.  Too many cute shoes...so little time...

After deciding that Peter was probably not going to be able to squeeze into his old pair of sneakers for six more weeks, I decided to get him a pair of cheap ones from Target. They carried two styles in his size. 

One style was a faux leathery looking sneaker that was so white it just screamed "kick me!" and it was so stiff  that had Peter taken one step in them he would have fallen.  Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "kick a kid when he's down."

So I settled on the slightly more expensive yet more flexible looking running shoe.  I was pleased with my selection, especially when my mom who was shopping with me, made a face at the stiff white shoes and agreed that the choice I made was the better of the two.

Peter was happy with them when I showed them to him Friday evening.  I am so glad that right now my kids could care less about clothing brands.  He doesn't know the difference between a Nike, a Skecher or a C9.  Give it a couple more years and I'm sure things will be different.

This morning when he put them on he said, "Mom!  These are great!  I can actually move my toes in these!"

Ah, nothing like a big serving of mommy-guilt first thing in the morning.  Luckily it goes great with coffee!
