I was listening to the radio this morning as I was driving the kids to school.
The kids were in the backseat. Peter was playing his DSi and Sarah was flipping through a book.
It was a rare moment of quiet on a normally hectic school morning and as I was enjoying the solace, I did the unthinkable - I started to softly sing out loud to the song playing on the radio.
"Mom! Could you please stop singing?! You're embarrassing me!" said my horrified 5-year-old daughter from the backseat.
Oh, sweetie, you think you're embarrassed now? Just wait a few years until I'm singing and you have some actual friends in the car with you. Then we'll talk embarrassed.
Embarrassed? Please! I ought to make that girl ride the school bus.

It's a Mom's job to embarrass her kids occasionally. I've been known to hum a few tunes in the store - that really gets them!
Hee hee...that's hilarious. Once my little sibling told my grandpa not to call her pumpkin in front of her friends because it was embarrassing. And she was about five too. ^_^

lol
what does she think our main job is to do? embarrass them, of course
Hah! Truth be told I have sooooo much fun embarrassing Rebecca. I have been known to blast the stereo in the car, roll the windows down and croon (top of my lungs of course) Neewwwwwwwww Yorrrrrrrrrrrrrkkk with Alicia Keys. I sound just like her too ;) I get the "Mo-om, you so can't sing like her" and "Turn the music down, it's too loud!" as she ducks down low... wayyyyy low! Hee hee hee!
This is so funny. I often tell my husband, we better enjoy these days that they think we are the greatest, because in a few years they will not want to be seen with us!
I am so glad I found your blog!
