Innocent mistake or strange perversion?

I was at Walmart this morning when I decided I needed to use the restroom.  Three cups of coffee will do that to you!  I needed three this morning because Dan had a 4:00 AM conference call and after he got up for that, I had a hard time falling back to sleep.  Thus, three cups of coffee instead of my normal two.

Anyway, as I was walking in to the restroom, the optometrist walked in behind me.  We both stopped in our tracks.  I giggled nervously and we both stared.

There was an older gentleman at the sink calmly washing his hands. He then reached for the paper towels and looked up at us and said, "Good morning." This caused me to giggle some more.  Shouldn't one of us be apologizing and making a hasty, red-faced exit?

The optometrist took charge and said, "Sir, I believe you are in the wrong restroom.  This is the ladies room."

He looked at us and said, "Oh. Sorry about that." And then made  his way to the door.

At first I thought he must be a confused old man but the more I think about it, I think he may just be a pervert with a bathroom fetish.  What do you think?

Pretty creepy if you ask me. Did you say anything to the Optometrist after he left?

Another woman came out of one of the stalls complaining that she could see his feet while he was in his stall and could tell it was a man. She seemed pretty riled up about the whole thing. The optometrist just seemed annoyed by it all. The man just seemed so calm about the whole thing...that's what made me think he was in there on purpose.

Yikes...this is pretty weird...and I think we shop at the same Walmart. At first I thought there was going to be some cute punch-line, like the old man would laugh it off and say "This is the ladies room? Good think I have an eye appointment later!"

But for him to be so calm and act like nothing was wrong...that makes me uncomfortable. Did either you or the optometrist report this to management? They could check the surveilance tapes in case this guy is weirdo.

Kimberly - no I didn't think to report it. But I was in yet another Walmart this morning and was on the lookout just in case he was a seriel Walmart bathroom weirdo.

(And the Walmart in question was not the one I normally go to so you are probably safe!)

EEWWW. I think it's creepy. I'm gonna keep the thought that maybe the thought the womens bathroom was cleaner and smelled better than the mens. OK maybe not, still creepy.

Wow! That is weird!! That would have given me the creeps, for sure. Some people just do that to you, don't they? And it's usually "friendly" older men that give me the willies. Ewww. Hopefully you never have to see him again.
