Our Gingerbread House.

Last Saturday we spent the afternoon making a gingerbread house.

Every year the Hispanic community at our church does this as a fundraiser.

And every year the same gingerbread loving lady bakes and assembles gingerbread houses, all the candy you could possible need to decorate them AND makes all the icing as well.

We purchased a small house again this year and picked out the six bags of candy we would use to decorate our tiny home.

The kids each decorated gingerbread people (a gingerbread man for Peter and a gingerbread angel for Sarah) while Dan got started on the house.

My sweet husband spent lots of time deciding what to put where while I drank cinnamon coffee and watched.

After the kids decorated their people they decided they wanted to help with the house.

It took a little convincing but my husband finally decided to give in and let the kids "help".

I think when the kids get a little older, we will let them each decorate their own house and Dan will have one of his very own to decorate.

And I'll still probably be sitting around sipping my complimentary coffee.

Three sides of our little masterpiece!

So which looks better, this year's house or last year's house? My husband wants to know.

I like this years house better! Very cute and I'm impressed. You should see the mess that my 3 year old and I made while attempting to decorate a ginger bread house. Oh my.

I like your blogspot! How did you create your signature? I love it.

Have a blessed day!

Both are excellent! However, I like the white touches of icing on the roof shingles! Thanks for sharing.

I like this year's house because of the snow on the roof!

What a wonderful project! I can't imagine how long it takes to bake all the gingerbread... and how incredible it smells baking!!!

Now, that is a Christmas project I could sink my teeth into, LOL!

I think they are both great, and that your husband is a master gingerbread craftsman, but I do favor this year's creation.

I'm mixin' up a batch of gingerbread as we speak (well, it's chilling in the fridge) for our houses.

Your houses and Ginger people look great!

I would think that if you ever want your husband to help with Christmas activities again you would say his house is best!

Great idea of a fundraiser. I'm curious as to how it does for them as such.

Anyways, this years. The detail on the roof is better.

My Mom has decorated a Gingerbread House each year with Claire, the kind out of the box. This would be a neat event to purchase from.

I like this year's house best. Great job!

I am BEYOND impressed at both year's houses. SO MUCH DETAIL. wow. This year's house has just a touch more bling with the small marshmallows on the roof and the entire side of the hosue filled with gumdrops. Does it have granite countertops?
