My poor husband...

Today is my husband's birthday. Happy Birthday, honey!

So yesterday, in his honor, I got a pedicure.

I know. It doesn't make sense that I would give myself a present for his birthday. But that's how my mind operates.

Oh. And also tomorrow is my birthday. So really I guess the pedicure is a gift to us from me.

That makes it sound a little better. Ahem.

Anyway, as I was getting my pedicure the sweet little Vietnamese pedicurist, turned up her nose and said, "Ewwww. You feet so dry!"

Talk about horrifying.

The woman who works with dirty, scaly, stinky feet ALL. DAY. LONG. turned up her nose at MY feet.

So. Happy Birthday to my poor husband! I'm not sure how he puts up with me and my so dry feet.

If possible, this makes me love him even more.

  3. Happy birthday- to you both.
To have someone who looks at feet all day comment how dry your feet look- lol, WoW. Maybe you should treat yourself more often... Thanksgiving, Chirstmas, Presidents Day.... (exactly how many holidays are there in one year?)

  6. Happy Birthday, Beth (and hubby). Just think of it this way, your gift is actually THREE-FOLD! You can change the sheets on the bed and NOT tear holes in them with "you feet so dry."

Oh man, you have me laughing all the time!

  8. An experince like that is exactly why I have avoided a pedicure my whole life.

I don't think feet are deeply pleasant but for someone else to tell me mine aren't I would be devastated.

  10. Those women have absolutely no tact. I don't know if it's cultural or race-related, but they just say anything that comes to their mind. I once went to my regular salon and she looked me up and down and said .."you get fat?" True Story.

  11. Beth, I can totally understand your logic. It must be an estrogen connection that we have. Since going back to work part time, I make a point to have a monthly pedicure and even recently...my hubby and I began having monthly couple massages. That is just AWESOME! Do you guys have a Massage Envy out your way? It is kind of like a fast food massage place. I don't care, I like fast food massages, and I love me some quarter pounders with cheese too!

Now if I can just get a landscape person and a housekeeper, I will have it made!

  12. Happy Birthday Beth! You have to check out this video on You Tube (I linked the post I did on it). It's hilarious about getting your nails done. Good for a great laugh. http://lloydmountain.blogspot.com/2008/05/funny.html

  13. Happy birthday to your husband, and happy early birthday to you! I have dry feet too...my poor feet used to be much nicer...until I came to college in San Diego and wore flip flops everyday (and mostly still do). My poor feet suffer. It's not their fault that I hate shoes.

  21. Don't feel bad. One time the sweet little Vietnamese eyebrow waxer told me that I would really benefit from an entire face wax. I almost socked her in the head.

    Happy Bday Hubby!

And don't worry about what the manicurist said- she was probably just trying to upsell you on some of that $5 scrub stuff.

I found you through CWO's meme list. I have personally thought many times of writing out and recording God's supernatural provision for us for the benefit of my children and to help build other peoples faith. I am excited to see your Miracle Monday Meme as I think it fits the bill for a place to link to and will (hopefully) inspire me to write things down more often.

I'm glad you didn't take it back down. Just like the Israelites, we need to "remember" all that God has done for us.

  25. Happy Birthday! The better you feel about yourself the better you can treat the people around you, so in a roundabout way it really was a gift for him LOL
